In her shoes

by on Jan.21, 2006, under Movies

It was a sudden plan to watch this movie. Summer suggested to watch this movie to appease me from this incident

This movie is touching. It is about kinship and sisterly love, and how the 2 sisters managed to overcome their problems and grow stronger.

Happy ending as expected )

The pram fight

by on Jan.21, 2006, under General

Today I went out to Chinatown with my girlfriend, Summer. The air was humid and the air was stiffling. However, it was quite cooling as it just rained.

We were walking in the super crowded alley when suddenly a pram knocked into Summer. It left a small broken patch of skin at her heel. I was feeling quite angry over this, though that lady who was pushing the pram did say “sorry”. I wonder aloud why people still bring a pram out to a place they know will be very crowded. That woman did not say anything but she gave me a stare before moving away. I was still feeling edgy about the incident and I kept ranting about prams in crowded places to Summer.

We followed the crowd flow which ended at a open road. There, the lady, with another woman and two men were waiting for me. The lady came and questioned me about my problem with her pram while one of the man whom I presume to be her husband came pushing me with his body and kept scolding me. My body automatically resisted his pushing force but I kept my hands down. The other couple tried to pull the first couple away from me and Summer. I wanted to gave my reasons but they keep pushing me, then I asked if he was looking for a fight. The wife wanted to tell me that she had 2 babies and hence she must have her pram. Then Summer pulled me away while the husband was still scolding me a hooligan.

All the while, I was not acting in a violent way. Though I rant, I was ranting to Summer, telling her we should not get a pram to crowded places next time. I wonder who is the hooligan, trying to win a fight by numbers.

This incident has made me more irritated over prams in crowded places.
Like I said, the air was stiffling then, air will be stiffling in crowded places. Me, an adult do not feel good already, I wonder how the baby will feel in such a place. Next is the space a pram takes. It blocks the crowd flow and restricts moment, not to mention the high possiblity of it knocking into people. Babies cry more when they are in a hot and crowded place. The parents will have a hard time trying to appease the baby. They will not have many free hands to do serious shopping.

I just cannot imagine how “enjoyable” it is to bring a baby, it’s pram out to shop at a super crowded place. However, I just can see prams at computer fairs or at sales. What does a baby know about a computer part? I think parents should keep the baby, and the pram away from crowded places. It will do them and their baby good, and also the other shoppers good.
