Qmax Creative webcam
by Leion on Jan.07, 2007, under General
I signed up for the wireless@sg service with Qmax for this webcam.

Despite the weird looks, this thing actually worked!
Not too bad for a free gift. I had a good testing session with Jits.
After claiming this new toy, I set off to Sim Lim square. I bought 2 mp4 players which caught my eyes. Maybe because this model was the first one I come across. The players are presents for my cousin and brother. Their birthday fall in this month and next so I thought might as well get my brother’s present first, since I cannot be sure if I can spend my Chinese New Year this year with my family.
I bought some CD sleeves as well before I went for a walk at Bugis Junction. Window shopping alone is quite boring. I left for home after just 30 minutes.
Not bad a Saturday spent. I managed to keep up to my new year resolution of going for a run.
UPDATE on 27 Feb 2007: I have received many requests for the driver for the webcam. I have decided to upload the files to the server for anyone who needs it to get it. If this offended anyone, please let me know and I will remove the files. Please leave a comment as you download the file.

Wow. You’re loaded!
My birthday was over in November, so ….
-big cheshire cat grin-
I was at Bugis with hb too! What a coincidence!
And many happy thanks for the “daily secret”! I had fun with it! haha!

Hi!
Just want to share with you, that the QMax webcam can be turned into an infrared camera. Just unscrew the lens and use some tweezers to remove that red-tinted piece of glass.

March 21st, 2007 on 6:41 pm
hello.
i got the webcam from my cousin.
it works but the only problem with it is that the picture quality aint that good. is it juz me or is there a way to rectify the problem?? thanks!
March 21st, 2007 on 6:50 pm
How lousy is the picture quality? Maybe you can try to wipe the lens. I cannot remember the resolution of the webcam, but I believe it is not that good in the first place, considering that it is free. Most probably there is no way to improve your situation unless you change to a better webcam.

Thanks For the driver.

The stuff that comes with the included tiny CD does not work under Windows XP. The one posted here does. Thanks.
* I hope Creative will let you keep the
driver download posted to benefit
other users.
The image quality is nothing to write hom about. But I am not complaining since it is free.

January 5th, 2009 on 10:03 am
Hi,
Someone is selling it to me over the internet.
He said I cannot test it coz that means opening the original seals; I guess he has never opened it since he got it.
I want to at least see the specs of this product; anyone have any document describing technically this product?
The most important thing I want to ask is: is this really wireless? if yes, up to how far can the cam be?
January 5th, 2009 on 10:15 am
Mine is a wired version. It was a free gift when I sign up for the free internet account.
I cannot remember about the spec of the camera but I remember the resolution was not fantastic. It was good as a free gift. I used it like only twice.
Hope it helps.
January 5th, 2009 on 10:54 am
thanks for the reply
my main goal is ‘wireless’
so i guess this product is not for me
i appreciate your reply, good thing as i have been surfing and asking around an d no one can answer me
i would guess that all those given free by qmax are of same statistics – which is not wireless
