Just Follow Law

This is a family movie outing in a really long long time.
7 tickets. $9.50 each. This is how much Jack Neo got from us.
Though the chinese name for the movie is 我在政府部门的日å, the English name for the movie is more localised. The language used in the movie is mainly English as well.
While there are some funny jokes, most are lame. Maybe it is just me. Like many of his films, Jack will always want to incorporated some politics into his movies. Not only do they look forced and out of place, they are not funny.
There will always be some values hidden in his movies and this one has one too. This is about family and the importance of family. The scenes towards the end of the show was quite touching. Maybe its just me again, to feel touched over small things.
The most funny character in the movie is the security guard. I like the joke about his bald head and how he cramped the wheel of the fire engine.
On the whole, I think this movie is not worth the price I paid for. My father commented that it felt like a Malay movie from the 60s. We should have waited for the VCD. But the movie outing for the family is worth the effort anyway.

Agree with you. This movie sucked so bad that my friend and I were resisting the urge to walk out of the cinema. The only thing I’d disagree is that the value is actually not hidden in the movie. Jack Neo was so afraid that the audience wouldn’t get the message so he had to have an extra narrating voice to tell you exactly what he is trying to portray. You’re right, jokes are lame, and the amount of cursing in the movie deserves a NC16 rating for coarse language. Gosh I want a refund.
