Sony Ericsson G900

Traded in my K800 to the G900. Was thinking for quite some time before the price of this mobile dropped. I find it a good buy at $288 (After my trade in, it went down to $188). Though the package does not come with the 1GB M2 card and the bluetooth headset, I still think this is worth the wait.

The phone using Symbian OS. It was a long time since I last used a phone with this OS. This is a huge improvement from the SX1 that I had. Still, the unit is a bit slow in loading. Thankfully, I am able to get it to work faster with these programs.

Though this phone is supposed to have a 5M camera, I think the camera interface is not as good as the K800 phone. I still prefer the K800 camera unit. The telco has hacked the phone to force a lengthy ad song as a start up tune. This is very irritating. if it were to be a short 5 seconds tune, it would have been more bearable. I must send it to the service center and get it removed the moment the next firmware is up.

you should be able to change the startup tune, either through theme or there’s a setting somewhere.

    Hi,
I read your post on hardwarezone that you have this “reading sim forever” problem, have the problem resolve already? Well, I have this problem too, I only got my phone for 2nd day and this thing happen, sigh! Not sure what to do now. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks.

You can try the following: Take out the sim card, clean it and put it back again. I tried it. The phone initially was still not able to read the sim, however it was able to eventually read the sim without further removal of the card. Hope this helps

I did that a couple of times but it didn’t help. The sim has no problem as it can be read by my old phone. LOL, I gave up that day and never try again, to my surprise, it worked again later in the night without any fix. Strange though.

Anyway thanks for your reply. :)
