Birthday lunch @ Peach Blossoms
Today is Sasco’s birthday. We’ve decided to have a birthday lunch at Peach Blossoms, at Marina Mandarin Hotel. Its a dim sum buffet. I’ve made a reservation for lunch at 11:30am. We were slightly late, and they gave me a call. Good service I told her. 
When we got to the restaurant, there restaurant was rather empty and quiet. We were seated near the entrance.

The Restaurant is on level 5, the foreground of the picture above is the AquaMarine restaurant. The Peach Blossom restaurant is has a typical Chinese decoration. On level 5, they have a few birds in cages. They give nice ambiance with their occasional chirps. Too bad we were seated in the restaurant and were not able to enjoy the bird ambiance.

Not too full. This is the first order we had. The good thing is that we can specify the number of items for each item. This is good as we can choose to have more for things we like and less for things we just want to try. Helps to cut wastage. The tea pot set is special. There is a fire underneath and it keeps the tea warm, which I like.

This is the second order. We ordered on bao because I like it more. She does not like it so much. It is good.
Complementary Birthday cake
At around 1pm, a waitress walked over with a cake in hand. I had requested for them to prepare for a birthday cake when I made my reservation. This should be the reason why they called me when we were late. 
The cake was complementary but the taste is very nice. There was a family seated beside us. The small boy was very sweet. He said, “Happy Birthday”, when he saw the cake. He also commented “auntie” look like a princess. We had a piece of the cake each and shared the rest with the 2 children at the neighbour table. Yes, they thanked “uncle and auntie”.
Deserts! Look at the steam!
She had a warm desert while I had a cold one. I like the dry ice steam effect.
Tulips
I ordered the flowers some days before and collected today. I did not take a good look at the flowers when I collected them but when I reached her place, the flowers bloomed and does not look that nice. The petals had some bruises. The flowers closed back while we were in the restaurant.
Overall, we had a good experience at the restaurant.
