Okuribito (Departures)

From the title and the movie description, this is a movie which will not catch my eye. I would not have caught this movie if I had not gotten the free tickets from GV. I won a pair of tickets to the sneak preview of this Japanese Okuribito Departures movie. Sasco and I were slightly late and the small movie hall was almost full. We had a bad seating position at the second row from the screen. Though the view is not that good, I must say I was very lucky to have watched this movie. This is one of the best movie I have watched in a long long time.
The story is about a man Daijo who had lost his job in Tokyo. He moved back to his home town with his wife where he found job dealing with dead people. The director is good in adding humour at the beginning of the film and caught my attention, otherwise we would have left the cinema already. As the humour subsided, the sadness flowed in. I can feel the sorrow of death from this movie.
I recommend watching this movie but bring some tissue paper along.
