Ten Magic Keys of communication

I had the opportunity to attend a talk on communications at my workplace. The title of the course is Ten Magic Keys of Communication. David Goldwich is the speaker. I think that he is a talented speaker who was able to catch my attention for the whole of the 2 hours.
The ten keys are not hard to understand, they are just not easy to remember. As David was going through the list, I felt I already know most of them. I am just not able to remember and apply them. I am writing this down now so I can refer back to the list to remind myself.
Here are the 10 points:
- Communicate to express, not to impress.
- Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
- You learn more by listening than by talking.
- People do things for their reasons, not yours.
- People have two reasons for everything; one that sounds good, and the REAL one.
- People often act based on emotion and justify their actions with reasons.
- Perception is reality. People see what they want to see, and hear what they want to hear.
- Whoever frames the questions wins.
- Make it easy to say Yes.
- People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care.
