The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

by Leion on Jul.21, 2010, under Movies

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is the third movie that I watched in this month.

The plot is the typical save the world type of hero. This time, the hero is a geeky physics student. He has Merlin’s gifts and will be able to archive great magical powers. There are some funny parts that introduce the background and some sort of plot set up.

There are not many effects, nor wow magical factor compared to the earlier Harry Porter series. In terms of magic, there is no magical enlightenment by the main character, however he rely on his knowledge of physics to overcome his enemy.

An entertaining movie!

Despicable Me

by Leion on Jul.11, 2010, under Movies

I had a glimpseĀ  the Despicable Me trailer once when I was crossing the road near Orchard Road. Its magic just worked on me and I decided I must watch this movie.

I waited about 2 weeks and finally got to watch it. I cannot say I love it, but its good enough.

The story is about a down and out villain, Gru, trying to do the worst crime. He plan to steal the moon and adapted 3 cute girls to help him achieve his goal. In the end, he grow to love them as his own children.

In my opinion, this show is good as it is. There is no need to go for the 3D version. Maybe it is just me.
