Principles of Law

by on Nov.24, 2005, under NTU

This is the last paper of this sem. Like my first paper, this is a open book exam.

Law has been one interesting subject. The lecturer, Mr Ram is a funny teacher. I always look forward to seeing him and listening to his funny and interesting examples. They aid in my remembering and understandings of the topic.

Today’s paper followed the past year papers format. The paper is neither more difficult nor easier. I spent the bulk of the time copying from the textbook.

The end of this paper marks the end of studying for this year. This marks the beginning of the continuation of my FYP work. Sigh. I have to work in this reduced holiday, which effectively mean I have no holiday (

Parallel Processing

by on Nov.22, 2005, under NTU

This course has brought new insights into the world of programming. Ways to improve algo and how to do things more efficiently. I like this course.

Today’s exam paper generally follows the past year paper’s format. Only the OpenMP is new. OpenMP, which I have speculated not to be examined came out today. I have not read on it after the quiz a few weeks ago. So I am not prepared for it.

The first 2 questions was not too tough. Exam stress has made me underperformed. I sudddenly forget about the binary search, which I know so well. I did a sequential search instead and thought that I have baged the 9 marks allocated for this question. It was only after discussion with my friends that revealed my silly mistake. I am disappointed with myself for the losing of marks here.

I am very unsure of the last question. Hopefully I can get some marks with my scribbles. Hope that I can get a B for this paper. Sigh, its always the same feeling after every paper. The feeling that I would be able to do better should I spend more time to seriously prepare for the exams……. Well, I deserve whatever I get for the effort I put in.

AI statistics reviewed!

by on Nov.18, 2005, under NTU

This is a continuation to a previous post.

Dr Michel Pasquier, the AI lecturer seems to have finished marking that paper. It has been almost 2 weeks and I must say that he IS very efficient.

?Good News Bad News

This
document provides detailed feedback about the AI examination paper set
in 2005-2006 S1. As was the case last year, it starts with some general
comments and statistics and continues with a rather comprehensive list of the errors observed in answers to the 4 questions (Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4)” />.

The overall outcome of the paper was a pleasant surprise.
The paper was neither harder nor easier than previous ones though,
hence the improvement originates elsewhere. For one thing, I observed
far fewer “silly mistakes” than before, and also it would seem most
have done their homework this time, as basic AI concepts have been
understood well enough. Hopefully all the efforts put into all these
exam paper notes is starting to pay off… Not much to comment or
complain about then – especially since I have now created a separate
document elaborating on the

Neural Network

Neural Network.

I have always complained to my friends about how the lecturer not knowing how to teach and having lousy notes. Indeed. Everyone is saying the same thing.

Today is the exams. Least the tuitorial question that I was forced to do for presentation, I did not do any practise for this exam. (Actually, I did no practise at all for all my exams this sem)

Today’s exam is not that tough. Not as tough as the previous sem’s exam questions. As usual, I did not prepare sufficiently for it. However, I am glad that I am still able to do many of the questions, though not perfectly correct.

I am confident that I should be able to pass. This is the 3rd and middle paper this sem. Next will be Parallel Processing. This is not as easy as it seems. I have chosen all the difficult subjects……….

Advance Computer Network

by on Nov.08, 2005, under NTU

Though I have always complained that I do not know what the course is about, I feel that the exam is surprisingly easy. Again, I did not put in enough effort to be able to do all the questions confidently, I am please to say that I can do most of the questions and have a high chance of them correct.

And YES I do feel cold in this exam as compared to my AI exam yesterday. I think the reason should be that this paper did not generate that much emotional outburst that spurs my body to generate the warmth to keep me from feeling chill. Well, I have to admit that I have 30 minutes to check my paper after doing all the questions that I know, or sort of know how to do. Some questions, don’t know means don’t know hahaa… This, is just a reinforcement of what was said before. I did not prepare enough. Getting lazy in memorising the formulee and theory.

Hopefully the grades will agree with what I have said here.
