This is the newest version. Though I knew of it in the afternoon when it was 1 hour old from here, I have only upgraded it just now. It is easy. Download the files and overwrite the old ones. Then click a special link. amos upgraded it and gave me confidence that the sky will not fall on me and hence I did it. 🙂
I have added a really cool translate widget from here.
Just click on the little flags to have google translate the page for you. Nice and easy.
Great work Trev and google! 🙂
This is a new blog and I find spammers coming my way.
Now I can cut memory usage on my beloved firefox on demand! The way to do it is simple. All I need to do is to minimise my FF window, then I restore it again. This is exactly what I am always doing when I work on my computer. So this is really painless for me. However there is a step that is needed to be done before the magic trick mentioned above can work. (continue reading…)
I mean the thumb drive actually.
I have a 256mb original thumb drive. Original because it is from Trek, the Singaporean company, that invented the portable drive.
Though I kind of neglected my thumb drive now that I have my laptop with me almost all the time, I still bring the thumb drive with me all everywhere I go. Portable Firefox is a must for someone who loves Firefox as much as I do.
This drive houses my treasured programs and my school work, which I find it very hard to synchronise the files on my computer and my thumbdrive.(I have stupidly overwritten my new data with my old one before). I just find out that there is a program by MS,? called Windows Briefcase.
How to get it to work: Go to windows explorer, select the drive, then click File, New, Briefcase. then copy the files from the computer to the new Briefcase folder. So the next time when you want to synchronise the files, just right click the briefcase folder and choose update all.
Alternatively, there is a even newer toy:? SyncToy for Windows XP
|SyncToy v1.0 is available as a free download on the Microsoft Download Center. The easy to use, customizable application helps you copy, move, rename, and delete files between folders and computers.|
This new toy has more advance functions that can make the synchronisation smarter. I have installed it and it seems impressive.
256mb may not be big enough to put a windows in, however, Damn small linux, as the name already suggested, is really small. It is 50mb only and can fit easily into a thumbdrive. The ablity to boot up from my thumb is nice however I am too lazy to try it out
NICE little drive I have and I am not going to throw it aside yet.
