The plot is the typical save the world type of hero. This time, the hero is a geeky physics student. He has Merlin’s gifts and will be able to archive great magical powers. There are some funny parts that introduce the background and some sort of plot set up.

There are not many effects, nor wow magical factor compared to the earlier Harry Porter series. In terms of magic, there is no magical enlightenment by the main character, however he rely on his knowledge of physics to overcome his enemy.

An entertaining movie!

Its magic just worked on me and I decided I must watch this movie.

I waited about 2 weeks and finally got to watch it. I cannot say I love it, but its good enough.

The story is about a down and out villain, Gru, trying to do the worst crime. He plan to steal the moon and adapted 3 cute girls to help him achieve his goal. In the end, he grow to love them as his own children.

In my opinion, this show is good as it is. There is no need to go for the 3D version. Maybe it is just me.

Passion run is the second run I participated myself. This is a smaller scale event compared to Standard Chartered Run. The event is less organised. The running route was not revealed till a very late stage.

Most of the volunteers around the race route seems very young. They are probably lower secondary school students. I think they are not suitable as they do not seem to be able to render much help if someone were to faint.

As the run was held at East Coast Park, the tracks are not wide enough when everyone was fresh and running together at the start point. This was alleviated after 10km. Thankfully the route is rather flat.

Run times

Results

Compared to my previous run, this run I got tired at a later stage. However towards the last 5km, my leg muscles were overworked and nearing the cramp stage. I had to stiffen up the muscles and drag my body along like a robot. This was especially so at the last kilometer. Nonetheless, I feel good to be able to push myself to complete the run.

Finishing

Today I went to a Japanese restaurant of the M*F chain. This is a dessert place located at the basement of Ang Mo Kio Hub. I am surprised to find the place rather deserted at lunch time. My group of 12 had no issues at all to find seats.

Because of work commitments, I reached the place the latest. I was surprised to be told that many items were not available. It was lunch time and they are open for business and they have limited choices. I went to order at the counter as I had a membership card for the restaurant chain. I was told some of our orders were not available and even the staff are not clear on what was available and what not. Had I went there alone, I would have left the place and settled for another eatery. It was only after another round of menu choosing that we managed to get our orders in. The bill came up to $130+ after discount. We were given another loyalty card. This is one of the most insincere card I have seen in a long time. It works like this – gather 5 or 10 chops to get a free dessert. To get a chop, the total spending in the restaurant has to be over $10. I find it really amused to be given the card with one chop with a total spending like this.

I settled for Salmon Mayo Bento. My order came the last and it look really different from what I saw in the menu. The picture in the menu looked like raw reddish salmon. Nevermind that the bento looked different from that menu. For some reasons, the salmon is all covered in the white mayo. I could not see any tinge of redness. Well, it looked like tuna to me. I tasted it, and it tasted cooked tuna to me. I took the bento and asked the casher about it. She and her colleague assured me that I was served salmon. I did not take a strong stand that it was tuna I was served. I ate enough salmon to know that was not salmon I was served. I went back and finish up my meal as there was supposed to be a meeting soon. As I ate, I grew angry with myself for not being assertive. I still believe I was cheated. For some reasons, I had reminded myself to relook at the notes from a course on being assertive earlier in the day. Though I did not have the time to look at the notes, it was a coincidence with this incident.

I have decided to boycott this particular branch. LOUSY EXPERIENCE to the max. Little wonder that place was so empty during the busy lunch hour.

I watch the normal version and skipped the 3D one as I am afraid my father will get giddy from wearing the 3D goggles.

With my little background knowledge, I was able to get along with the plot quite readily. The computer effects are quite good but I am a bit disappointed with the Kraken monster towards the end. It is just huge and was taken down pretty easily.

In summary, I am satisfied with the movie. It is a long time since I get to watch a cheap and good movie.

The last time I had to leave the office a a few weeks was when I had to travel to the overseas office. There was a familiar love hate feeling. The bonus was that my absence would be missed. That was the one and only.

Circumstances had changed. I will take whatever comes along.

There are many scenes that bring laughter to the whole cinema. Not too bad.

I do not have much knowledge about the Greek gods and so I was not able to relate to the gods’ names well. The movie had quite a few funny parts and can be considered an average movie. There was some computer graphics but they are not fantastic nor are they bad.

Do stay on when the credits roll, for there is a humour packed ending. I almost missed it if not for the slight jam at the exit.

This is the first 3D movie I watched with a goggle. This is quite heavy and need some getting used to. The 3D effects are good.

This is the first movie I watched at such an early hour – 3:30am on a Christmas night. Scorpiofool was kind enough to accompany me to watch the movie together.

The movie is set as a planet invasion by humans to another planet for a mineral material. The main lead was tasked to infiltrate the alien race using a mind controlled alien body. He grew to fall in love with the alien race and fought with them against the skywalkers (his fellow earthlings). The effects are good and I like the ending whereby his consciousness was eventually transferred from his human body to the alien avatar body that he controlled – much like transferring files between thumb drives.
