Both companies have special website set up - http://youdeservebetter.sg and http://www.wehearyou.com.au. Both campaigns seemed to suggest that they are customer oriented.

Interestingly, both companies are not the largest company in their country. This seems to imply that the customers of other companies are suffering injustice and the underdog company will try and make things better.

Is this so?

I was thinking about migrating my mobile plan or churn to another provider when I read about this news. Think this is quite timely

I chose my mobile plan for convenience, now I am thinking of migrating to one that can suit me better. When my contract is up, I may just churn and join another provider.

We bought the movie tickets without 1% knowledge what P.S. I love you is going to be about, should be about love. (Going for a romantic movie together is for entertainment only - no meanings intended)

Movie started with a couple. Gerry and Holly quarreling for a long time, almost 20 to 30 minutes before the starting movie credits roll. Next thing we know, is at the scene of a funeral. Gerry had died. Holly was devastated, until she began to receive letters from her dead husband. It seemed like he had the letters prepared before his death to be sent to her.

It was only towards the end of the movie when Holly’s mother revealed that Gerry had passed her the letters and made her promise to send the letters for him.

The movie is very nice and at the same time sadistically romantic. Touching. I could hear sniffing sobs all over. It is this touching.

The movie had little to do with death note and shinigami, though this is actually the 3rd movie of the Deathnote movies (Death note 1 and Death note 2). L was the genius who defeated Kira Light. He wrote his name into the death note and he will die with heart attack on a fixed date. As such, he will not die in any other ways on any other days.

This is the core strength in L’s way to fight Light, and in this movie, the reason why he dared to risk his life doing things to “save the world”. I think this movie is quite slow paced at the beginning. About 1 hour into the movie I was still thinking where is the next deathnote going to appear. I went into the movie thinking this is another movie about shinigami and deathnotes. I was wrong. This movie is only about a deathly virus.

Like most sequels I think this movie is even worse off compared to deathnote 2, which was worse off compared to the first movie. We can safely skip watching this movie

The girl actress is good. Her facial expressions gave life to the character she acted, as pointed out by HF. In terms of graphics, I think many of the old effects come from Stephen Chow’s old movies.

The alien dog is cute. I can’t help but think that CJ7 bears a resemblance to one old toy I made for my ex.

Still, the the movie is good. Enjoyed the movie.

Quite a good start of year 2008. On the 20th January 2008, I won 4D, 8928. I seldom invest in 4D and this is the first 4D bought in more than 6 months. Won $100 for this starter prize.

4 Days later, I got winning from TOTO and brought in $90. I have been buying TOTO weekly and its a long time since I last won any money. A small win is still a win.

A good start. Hope the good luck will continue.

I have lost the receipt so I printed my credit card bill and went to Jurong Point Harvey Norman to ask for a replacement. I was served by a salesman. He helped me test the reader on a few computers to no success. He then offered to give me a replacement and proceeded to get another reader. The new reader, is not able to work as well. He got 3 of his female colleagues to help me.

After many more tries, the new reader still refused to work with my M2 card. Finally one of the colleagues brought my card and the reader into the boss’s room and verify that indeed, the card reader is not working. In the end, I was offered a refund or to try with another reader again. I chose to get a refund. The one hour experience has been good. The staff showed much professionalism and provided great service, despite me not able to provide a receipt for my purchase.

After getting the refund, I went over to Cyberactive, I found another reader that reads the M2 card. I asked the shop assistant if I could test the reader. It was a negative. Then I proceed to tell my story about the M2 card reader and then he decided to help me test the drive. The catch is that I have to purchase the reader after testing. I said yes, if the drive proved to be able to read the M2 card properly. He then proceed to cut the packaging for me. The testing was positive. I bought the drive. Another good service encountered today.

Though I spent quite some time over getting a replacement reader. The experience was a pleasant one.

Whenever I have a choice, I will use Firefox as my browser. For many years, I have been able to access the OCBC bank’s site without any issues. That is because I had been using Windows. Now that I have decided to embrace linux, I have thought that i will be able to access the site with Firefox. I find that I am not able to access my bank account online. The main page just refuses to load. I get a blank page on the main page. It loads forever without actually being able to complete loading. Well, who cares about the main page, all I need is the internet banking page to load properly. Hence, using a windows machine, I went and write down the OCBC internet log in page.

With the URL, I logged into my Ubuntu and fired up Firefox. I keyed in the URL and pressed enter. The page loaded. I thought my battle was over. I will be able to log in after all. But alas, I was wrong. The page, and the java applet, is able to detect wrong password. However, when I keyed in the correct password, the page just refreshed. Period. I have tried this for a dozen times and that’s it. Refresh on correct log in. Update: Removing the .sg in the URL solved the issue. I am finally able to log in again.

Contacting their helpdesk has not help. They just refer me to a outdated link on their “Recommended software requirements” page. I cannot help but think, why am I able to log into POSB and Maybank’s online systems without any issue.
